Live pass

One system, every house its own face

Three fictional houses, three identities, three living passes. Colours, typography, shape and motion follow the venue. The security underneath is identical. Each QR code re-encodes itself every few seconds, so a screenshot is worthless at the door.

Your brand, your rules, your pass

Colours, fonts, logo, tiers, QR behaviour: every pass is shaped to match your house. Not a template, not a sticker: a real brand object that looks and behaves like you.

Who it's for

One door policy, three worlds

Doorman is built for hospitality that selects. Every club, restaurant and event gets its own environment with its own identity, its own admins and its own door.

Clubs

Private clubs & members houses

Member lists that hold up. Ballotage by several admins, a quorum you set yourself, and one dissent closes the door. Members carry a pass you can pause or revoke remotely.

  • Adjustable quorum (1 to 5 votes)
  • Anonymous review
  • Instant revocation

Restaurants

Restaurants with an inner circle

For houses where the best tables go to familiar faces. Regulars get their own pass with tiers: founder, member, guest, so the host at the door knows instantly who is standing there.

  • Recognition at the door
  • Tiers such as Founder
  • Door log per evening

Events

Events & temporary doors

One-off nights, pop-ups and private dinners. Passes are time-bound and the QR refreshes every fifteen seconds, so screenshots and forwarded codes do not work.

  • Rotating QR, no screenshots
  • Standalone scanners or phone
  • Live capacity and log

Why Doorman

The door becomes your strongest asset.

Most houses guard their bar, their kitchen and their wine list with precision, but leave the door to chance. Doorman turns that last blind spot into an instrument.

Decide before the night starts

No more improvisation at the rope. Your board approves membership in advance; the door simply executes, consistently, every night, with every team.

A full room, not a random room

Ballotage filters on fit instead of first-come-first-served. The room fills with people who belong to the house, and who bring the right guests.

Members who stay

Status tiers, guest rights and a pass worth showing. Members who feel recognised come back more often and introduce their circle.

Completely in your house style

Landing page, member pass and scanner carry your logo, colours and fonts. Doorman stays invisible; your brand does the talking.

Insight instead of gut feeling

See who visits, who sleeps, when it peaks and how full the room is, live. Program on data, not on anecdotes.

Live within a week

We set up your branding, board and door together. No IT project, no hardware lock-in. Scan with a phone or a fixed terminal.

How it works

From knock to scan

01

Application

Candidates apply through your own branded page. A name, an introduction, who sent them.

02

Ballotage

Three to five admins vote in silence. At quorum the pass goes out automatically.

03

The pass

A living QR on the phone, installable as an app, fully in your identity.

04

The door

Scan with phone, tablet or a standalone USB/network scanner. Green or red, with name and member number.

Door policy without discrimination

Selecting is allowed. Discriminating is not.

Research into nightlife discrimination keeps pointing at the same weak spot: the door. Where selection happens on gut feeling, in seconds, without written criteria and without a record, guests of colour are refused or searched more often than white guests. Nobody can prove afterwards what happened. Doorman moves the decision away from the doorstep and makes it explicit, shared and auditable.

The door

In the 2025 mystery guest study, differences between white duos and duos of colour showed up above all at access control: only duos of colour felt doormen made a distinction.

7 / 25

Only seven of twenty-five venues published their door policy online; two published a complaints procedure. Without written criteria a refusal cannot be explained or reviewed.

Transparency

Simply announcing that door policy is being observed already lowers discrimination. Visible, recorded criteria change behaviour at the door.

How Doorman is used against it

Written criteria, before the night

The house records what it selects on and publishes it on its own page. Every applicant is judged on the same fields, not on who is standing in front of the door at 1am.

No ethnicity, no photo

The application form does not ask for origin, skin colour or a portrait, so admins cannot weigh what they are not allowed to weigh. Only the criteria the house has published are shown.

Several pairs of eyes, no single gut call

Three to five admins vote separately and in silence, with a quorum you set. One doorman's mood can no longer decide who gets in.

Everything logged and reviewable

Every vote, reason, revocation and scan is stored with a timestamp. If a guest, a lawyer or the municipality asks questions, the house can show what happened instead of guessing.

A reason and a right to object

A refusal is never silent: the applicant gets a reason and a route to object, so a complaints procedure exists in practice and not only on paper.

At the door the pass decides

The scanner reads a pass, not a face. Green or red, name and member number: the same procedure for everyone in the queue.

A private house may select on its own house rules, on membership, on behaviour and on capacity. Refusing on race, origin, gender, religion, orientation or disability is prohibited by law. Doorman is built so a house can prove it stays on the right side of that line.

Door policy

Members only, on written criteria.

Bisous asked for Doorman for one reason: to decide who comes in, without the door becoming a matter of gut feeling. A members club may select, but selection must rest on criteria you have written down, not on how someone looks. This is how you set up Doorman for your own venue.

01

Write your house rules first

Put on paper what your house is: membership, conduct, guest policy, minimum age, dress code if you have one. Publish it. Criteria that are not written down cannot be checked afterwards. That is exactly where things go wrong.

02

Keep identity out of the form

Doorman's application form asks for name, contact, referral and motivation. No photo, no ethnicity, no nationality field. What you do not collect cannot steer a decision.

03

Let several people decide

Set the quorum to three, four or five admins. One person's hesitation is not a rejection. A shared decision filters out the personal bias that a single doorman cannot see in themselves.

04

Give a reason and a way back

Every decision is logged with a reason. Send it. Offer an objection route: a second reading by an admin who did not vote the first time.

05

At the door, the pass counts

The scanner reads the pass, not the face. Staff see: valid, paused or revoked, plus name and member number. Any discussion is about the pass. That removes the argument from the pavement.

06

Review your logs monthly

Every application, vote, reason and scan is stored. Read them back: who is being rejected, on what grounds, and does that match your written criteria? Adjust the criteria, not the individual case.

Within the law

Dutch and European equal-treatment law allows a private club to select members, but not to refuse people on race, skin colour, national or ethnic origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability. Research into nightlife discrimination shows the problems concentrate at the point of access, where criteria are subjective and nothing is recorded. Doorman is built to close exactly that gap.

  • Selection on written, applicable-to-everyone criteria, never on appearance or origin
  • No photos, ethnicity or nationality in the application
  • Multiple admins per decision, with a reason on record
  • Full audit trail of applications, votes and scans
  • A published complaints and objection route

Doorman supports a defensible door policy; it is not legal advice. Have your house rules reviewed by your own legal adviser.
